Overview
Taylor B.♭Custom store series trumpet. 150mm two-piece red brass bell. Mouthpiece receiver and reed pipe machined in one piece. Yellow Brass & Nickel Silver reed pipe. Sharp shaped main tuning tube, water keyless. Brushed finish. Low brass. Instrument weight 1261 grams. No case. Body only; made in 2018.
Condition.
Dotted discoloration scattered on bell flares. Hand mark discoloration can be seen in the lower center of the bell. Other than that, the instrument is in good condition with no dents or repairs. The inside of the pipe has been cleaned, replaced with a soft brass, and adjusted for maintenance.
Features
One of a kind custom made by Andy Taylor. Based on the Starship series, which features the sharply bent main tuning and bell bows that Taylor has been actively producing in his recent custom models. The biggest and thickest big bell in Taylor's history is attached to the body. The ultra-thick bell bow is hand-bent at a sharp angle, a technique that is unique to the Starship series. The pistons are not made by Bauerfeind or Hoxson, but by Getzen. The light and noiseless touch of the Getzen pistons is a nice touch. The bell is quite large and thick, but the response is quick, and the sound is stable throughout the entire range. The range of tones is large, and as the nickname "Balladeer Bell" implies, the sound can be varied from dark and fat to a powerful, crossbow-like sound that is typical of big bells. It is a highly complete and unique instrument.
