Description:
Every once and a while an older Strat® comes along that plays really well and sounds exactly right.
This '63 is mostly original, the neck date code states Oct 20 1963. The pots, pickups, and switchgear are original, pot codes: 304 63 40. The hardware is all original, including the single line Kluson tuners.
When we acquired this Strat®, a prior owner had routed the body and modified the pickguard to accommodate 3 slider switches. We eliminated the non-original switches, and replaced the pickguard with an original spec unit. The route in the body remains, but of course is now hidden by the new pickguard. The frets enjoyed a full life, we decided to have our master luthier perform a pro-refret.
This guitar has been refinished earlier in it's life, the refinish is average, and is showing some wear. The headstock "Spaghetti" logo has been replaced with a period correct decal.
Weighing in at 7.6 lbs, this guitar feels really good, and as we mentioned earlier, this Strat® has "the sound".
Give this one serious consideration!
