The passive tones (Treble, Bass, and Presence) are arranged to function individually, with the Presence knob turned all the way down and the other knobs at 12 o'clock to find the tone you like best. The Presence and Gain knobs are also used to adjust the tone. The Presence and Gain knobs can also be set after 3 o'clock for a crunch setting.
It is a beautiful item with little use.
