  • Description: It's a rather rare and unusual 1981 BC Rich Eagle. These guitars have really come into their own over the last few years and this one is a really cool example. It is a Made in USA neck thru the body BC Rich guitar. We purchased this rare bird from its original owner. He told me that at the time he didn’t care for the natural wood finishes that BC Rich was commonly known for so he had a local music store special order this guitar from BC Rich. He ordered it in a custom color…a deep dark luscious chocolate brown. This guitar has the diamond abalone inlays on the fingerboard and also sports gold Grover Imperial tuners. The guitar has two humbucking pickups. It has a Bill Lawrence Double Blade in the neck and a Dimarzio PAF in the bridge position. For that screaming ‘80s tone, the 9 volt battery powered classic BC Rich preamp is also on board this custom ordered guitar. As it turns out, the original owner was primarily a keyboard player who had been enlisted to play a little second guitar in an 80’s hair band. Needless to say, this Eagle is in quite nice shape with only a few very minor dents and scratches. There is a ton of meat left on the frets and the guitar plays and sounds like the proverbial dream. The active preamp is working great and the pickups read 12.35 k ohms for the neck pickup and 7.75 k ohms for the bridge pickup, both measured at the output jack. The output jack plate is cracked but functions fine. This 28 year old guitar has literally been under the bed for the last 20 years. This Eagle will be professionally packed and will ship in its original hardshell case.
