Description

2007 Collins 0001-A, SN 13602, NEAR MINT. Here is an exquisitely reimagined modern version of the 12-fret classic Martin 000-18 from the 1920s to early 30s. High grade Adirondack top and mahogany back and sides with tortoise shell (faux) binding and black/white rosette and trim. Period correct pyramid bridge with a drop-in saddle and vintage style pickguard material. The neck is a comfortable 1 7/8” at the nut with a modified V profile and 2 3/8” string spacing at the bridge. The slotted headstock sports top-of-the-line Wavery G-98 repros. The bone nut and 28-style diamond volute are the two notable “upgrades”. Internally the forward X bracing and gently scalloped tone bars are true to the original. It is a fingerpickers delight with a tone that is rounder and more open than most Collings models I’ve played but with the same Collings craftsmanship and attention to detail. Comes with the original TKL high quality Geib-style case.
