Description: This all original Danelectro hollow body guitar was built in the USA and is as affordable now as it was when it was built in 1962. Nathan Daniel (1912-1994) founded Danelectro in 1947 in order to build affordable guitars. There is no fine wood, no detailed inlays and little in the way of embellishments. The double cutaway body is constructed of poplar or pine, the top is blond masonite and the sides are covered with creme vinyl. The single-coil pickup consists of an alnico bar magnet inside a lipstick tube. The ever price conscious Danelectro purchased the tubes from a lipstick manufacturer. The 1 11/16" nut is aluminum and the tuners are white plastic button tuners. There are 21 frets on a rosewood fretboard. The neck scale is 24 3/4", the body is 2" deep and the body width at the bout is 13 1/8". There are a couple of small nicks, otherwise, it looks like it was never played.
