Player's Perspective

Music Store Live is proud to present this 1967 Epiphone Riviera E360TD! Do you love authentic rock and roll? Do you have a jones in your bones for a gritty, soulful and expressive tone? Well happy birthday to you because this Riviera is packing all of the above and then some. The tone of this guitar is just wonderful. It's fat and full sounding without being mushy in the low end. In fact, the low end is very clear. The mids growl and bloom with the very best vintage semi hollow guitars and the high end is both sweet and salty. It cuts through but it does so without stabbing you in the forehead with an icepick. We've gone over this guitar's set up plenty and it is dialed in to its very best. It may have a hint of vintage buzz on it but it's not nearly enough to slow this thing down. This axe is ready to be opened up on the big stage and played all night. It's got the tone, feel, look and vibe that you'll love.

Item Details

This 1967 Epiphone Riviera is finished in Sunburst and is all original and bursting with mojo. The flame maple semi hollow body rings like a bell and the mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard help to smooth the tone off. Just look at it. You don't see a top like that on every guitar coming out ofthe sixties! The neck features a very comfortable medium / slim rounded profile, bound fretboard, parallelogram inlays and the headstock is still sporting its original Kluson Deluxe tuners. The original patent sticker mini humbuckers on this Riviera sound wonderful. They are warm and clear sounding with plenty of punch. This might be due to the original Sprague capcitors that have remained in this guitar since it left the factory! Some other stand out features include the original patent number bridge, Frequensator tailpiece, Epi pickguard, original controls and solder joints and original hard shell case.

Overall Condition

This 1967 Epiphone Riviera E360TD is in very good condition. There is some finish checking on the body that you can see in our photos. The truss rod has been professionally repaired at one point and works as it should. The frets have seen some professional work. They are still in playable condition for sure but they have most likely been leveled at one time.

The tone, feel and originality of this guitar make it a tremendous addition to any vintage collection. This is exactly the type of axe we like to offer to our vintage customers - a guitar that is in VG condition, plays and sounds great and will certainly increase in value over the years.
