For Sale is a very special piece of Blues and Rock history; the famed 1958 Fender Stratocaster played and or recorded with by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana, Mason Ruffner, and many other great artists including recordings by Bob Dylan! - This was Mason's Ruffners' early and main guitar for many, many years. -
It is, as witnessed by Billy Gibbons, one of the nicest sounding Strats ever! -
The guitar is all original except the volume pot has been changed, it has been re-fretted, and the 3 way switch has been changed for a 5 way. The original 3 way comes with the guitar. The fretboard has a light overspray on it but the original finish is underneath. It is in the exact original condition as it was used by these artists. -
All the provenance supporting the historical significance of this guitar, both photos and statements, come with it. -
Not to mention, this is the earliest 3 tone Stratocaster I have ever witnessed. It's a January body date which should be a 2 tone finish. Could this also be Leo Fenders' prototype of the very popular 3 tone cherry finish? -
The guitar weighs @ 7 lbs., 13 oz. - Click the "More Pictures" link. - Call for more details.
