Description: Well it’s hard to believe that this silver 1979 Fender® 25th Anniversary Stratocaster® is actually 31 years old! This guitar was produced by Fender® to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Stratocaster®. It has a 4 bolt maple neck, Sperzel (brand) tuners, a 6-digit serial number beginning with a 25 (this one is 2523XX), Anniversary written in black on the bass horn, and a silver metallic finish. This guitar has a wonderful maple neck which is straight and has low action. The frets are original and have only very minor play wear. The guitar plays great and the tuners and truss rod work as intended. The finish is in excellent shape except for 3 areas on the lower (treble) edge of the guitar. One spot by the horn is approximately 3/4” by 1/2”. On the lower bout one spot is 2 3/8” by 1” and the other spot is 2” by 5/8”. These areas have sustained damage to the finish, almost though to the wood. The damage is rough, not smooth (as if by wear). The nice thing is you can barely see it from the front of the guitar. The electronics are original on this baby and the grey-bobbin pickups read 5.56 k ohms for the bridge pickup, 5.68 k ohms for the middle pickup, and 5.68 k ohms for the neck pickup, all measured through the output jack. The potentiometer codes are the 27th week of 1979 for two of them…one code is obscured by solder. The guitar will ship in its original black form-fit case. It will be professionally packed with care.
