  • Description: 1959, Fender® Tweed Bassman®. The real deal. Model 5F6-A. One of most revered and sought after amps, ever. This amp was the foundation and springboard for several other well thought of amps we would see later. I consider this amp in very good condition. Exterior: The tweed is worn & frayed, missing on the bottom area front and rear, yet overall very good. The grillcloth is original. The leather handle is a replacement. Interior: Again Model 5F6-A. Stamped IC = March, 1959. Production # 35. The code on all four P10R speakers is 220841= 1958. The only changes or replacements to this amp are normal maintenance service replacement parts, (old parts retained), two reconed speakers, and a new 3-prong power chord. This operation was performed by amp guru Steve Hunter of Athens Ga. Steve has worked with many of the Athens bands including the Drive By Truckers. A great amp for on the road & stage use, or what an addition to have to offer in a recording studio. Or, if you’re extremely lucky, keep it just for yourself.
