Description

Here's a late tweed Fender Bassman from 1960 that's almost completely original. Not the prettiest one you'll find but close your eyes and use your ears. It's had a few caps done and the original P10Qs have been recently reconed. The AC cord has been upgraded to a grounded three prong. Everything else is original. The panel is extremely clean and all lettering is there and sharp. The cabinet was, like so many, painted black at some point and later stripped back to the tweed. It could certainly be improved-there's a good bit of black residue but I'm not inclined to take it off. It looks pretty cool and sounds just awesome. This amp is extremely quiet at idle and very loud when cranked (it's loud at "3" and it goes to "12". It has that unmistakeable bassman growl. The hair comes out at fairly high volume but when it does, you are in tone heaven. It is no wonder that the tweed Bassman is considered by so many to be the finest guitar amp ever built.
