The holy grail of the 50s Fender Tweed amplifiers, the 5F6-A Bassman. Although this example has some wear and tear it is an absolutely fantastic sounding and very original amplifier. Tube chart is stamped IC, dating to March of 1959. The original Jensen P10R speakers are coded 220902 and 220938, dating to the 2nd and 38th weeks of 1959. Transformers and choke are original, with the power transformer coded 8087. Visible pot codes are coded 137937 and 304921, dating to the 21st and 37th week of 1959. The amp was complete gone through and has some replaced caps (original yellow Astrons included), and voiced perfectly with a pair of NOS Tung Sol 5881s. There is a quarter in size hole in the bottom of the chassis from a reversed mod and the handle has been replaced. Stage and studio ready. Own a piece of history!

Condition: Overall in well worn cosmetic condition, not as rough as others we've seen, but absolutely wins the award for vibe factor. Functionality wise it is stage and studio ready.

We offer a 48 hour approval period on all guitars, amplifiers, and pedals from the date of purchase for in store transactions or date of delivery for internet orders. This approval period is for the buyer to make sure that the instrument is in the condition and originality we advertised. If a return is requested because the buyer simply doesn’t like the way an instrument plays, sounds or other personal preferences we reserve the right to deduct a 10% restocking fee at our sole discretion. In the event of any return the buyer pays all shipping and insurance costs, both to and from, as well as any other fees associated with the transaction. In the event a return is requested on an item prior to shipment or delivery a 10% restocking fee will be deducted at our sole discretion. All returns must be approved by phone or email and must be returned in the exact condition they left our store. Any item returned not in the same condition it left our store is subject to a 20% restocking fee at our sole discretion. For logistical reasons we are unable to accept returns on any transaction involving a trade, both in store and online. Unauthorized returns will be refused and returned at customer's expense.
