  • Description: It's a 1969 Fender® Telecaster® in a blonde finish. This beauty will be professionally packed with care and ship in its original hard shell case. If you have been searching for that all original maple necked Tele® that plays and sounds as only these classic guitars can…This is the one!!!! The maple neck on this beauty plays like butter. The serial number is 2914XX which would lead us to believe that it is a 1969. The green ink stamp on the neck is extremely faded and unreadable. The original frets are in great shape and have plenty of meat left on them. The truss rod and original tuners work as was intended. The beautiful blonde finish has yellowed nicely with age. There is one finish crack on the front, left upper bout of the guitar, and one on the left side of the back of the guitar. There are few minor chips as you can well imagine after forty years. The correct 3-ply guard (mother-of-toilet seat on the underside) has shrunk and is cracked by the bottom 3 pickguard screws. This style pick guard was used by Fender® in 1968 and 1969. The electronics in this Telecaster® are all original as well. The two potentiometers are both date coded as the 36th week of 1966. This is very typical for post CBS instruments as CBS had purchased a significant amount of parts after their takeover of the company. These two super twangy pickups read 6.06 k ohms for the neck pickup and 5.47 k ohms for the bridge pickup…both measured at the output jack. Neither one of the pickups are dated. This guitar weighs in at 7lbs 10 oz . As we mentioned earlier, this Tele® will ship with its original hard shell case. Also included is some case candy…instruction/warranty booklet, Fender® leather strap, and Fender® case tag.
