Description:
If your curiosity has brought you here, chances are you are quite familiar with the evolution of the Fender® Champ®.
This Champ®, serial # C07102, produced in April 1958, utilizes the 5F1 circuitry. Some would consider this to be the definitive tweed era Fender® Champ®. The main change from the 5E1 circuit in 1956 was the removal of the filter choke.
Once Fender® got to this circuit revision, development of the Champ® stopped and the electronics stayed the same until the fall of 1964 when the Champ® was cosmetically revamped to conform with the new blackface style of Fender’s amp line and bass and treble knobs were added.
This little gem has had the original speaker replaced with a period correct "Rola" 8" stamping number 285717. In addition it appears that one of the caps has been replaced. This Champ® is in really nice shape and sounds great ! Very collectable.
