Description

The Fender Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960. While it retained the  34"scale length of the P Bass the Jazz featured a narrower neck. The 1976 fender catalog states "This thin neck invites guitarists to play bass with barely a warm-up". Hmmm... Going to 2 pickups clearly gives it much more tonal variation than the P.

This 4 bolt neck Jazz Bass plays and sounds great. The body is  American alder, and is quite resonant. At only 9.2 pounds, it's very comfortable, especially for a 1970s fender.    It's all original except for the strap locks.  Due to the fact that the solder is virgin, except for the pickup leads, we figure the pickups were probably taken out at some point to put in DiMarzios or such. It now has the original pickups (dated 1973) back in along with the 1973 CTS pots. The strap buttons have been replaced but the original buttons have been kept in the case.

This bass has many more gigs left in it. 'Tho not a virgin it is in truly remarkable condition for a 40 year old vintage Fender bass!
