Summary: A great-playing, super clean example of an iconic bass.
Body: Offset-waist contoured alder body with three color sunburst finish.
Neck: Maple with bound rosewood fretboard. Block inlays. 34” scale.
Electronics/Hardware: Two single-coil pickups. Two volume and one master tone control with black knobs. Open-gear “Fender”-stamped tuners. Chrome bridge and pickup covers. Treble-side finger rest. Black pickguard.
Cosmetics: This is a very clean instrument with little sign of wear considering its age. There is light wear in the form of swirling to the body finish and a few dings and dents, most notably some finish chipping along the bottom edge of the body. The neck is in excellent condition, with full frets, a dark board, and all binding and inlays intact. Apart from some light spotting on the tuners, the chrome hardware is in great shape and shiny. This bass looks fantastic; with its block inlays, dark burst finish and flashy pickups covers, it’s a prime example of this era of Fender basses.
Playability: The action is low and playability is excellent. Pickups still pack plenty of power and the electronics are in great shape. A wide variety of tones are on tap, from woody to growly to snappy and bright. A true working player’s bass.
Weight: 11 lbs, 15 oz.
Case: Original hard shell.
