Here we have a Pre CBS Fender that really stands out as a rare and desirable piece, an Olympic White Jazz Bass.

This bass was purchased from the original owner at the recent Nashville vintage guitar show.  It is a great piece that is 100% original, including the pickup cover, bridge cover and the case.

When instruments like this bass arrive, with the natural play wear and authentic patina, we often leave them just as they sit.  That's how we're going to roll with this one.  A good polishing would clean it up pretty easily, but somehow it just seems better to leave it just as it was when the first owner handed it to me.

Check out the fretboard - the Brazilian rosewood grain is unbelievable.  The back of the neck is played enough to have that perfect, vintage feel.  The frets are in great shape and the truss rod was checked to make sure there is room for future neck relief adjustment.

The pickguard is cracked in several places, which is of course typical of the era.

Original case included.

A beautiful, rare and cool piece!
