Description: The Fender® Jazzmaster™ is an electric guitar that was first introduced at the 1958 NAMM Show and was designed as a more upmarket musical instrument than the Fender® Stratocaster® and Telecaster®. Initially marketed at jazz guitarists, the Jazzmaster™ was more commonly played by surf rock guitarists in the early 1960s and, more recently, by indie rock artists such as J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr. The Fender® Jazzmaster™ features a contoured "offset-waist" solid alder body, 25-1/2" scale length maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, lead and rhythm circuit switching with independent volume and tone controls, and a floating tremolo, with tremolo lock. The tremolo lock can be manually activated to keep the entire guitar in tune if one string breaks. The Jazzmaster™ has unique, wide "soapbar" pickups unlike any other single coil. The coil is wound flat and wide, giving them a warmer tone without losing their single coil clarity. The vintage guitar feel and that perfect tone are standard for the Fender® Jazzmaster™, designed by Mr. Leo Fender® himself and released back in 1958. This model features a special gold pickguard.
