  • Description: Fender® Jazzmaster™ Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1966), made in Fullerton, California, serial # 119053, sunburst lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case. This is a fine "Early CBS" Fender® Jazzmaster™, built just a year after Leo's company was sold into CBS slavery! The neck date is January 1966; the typical 1965-6 appointments include the bright, "tight" sunburst finish with little color blending, tortoise plastic (not nitro) laminated pickguard and early "F" neckplate with a 6-digit serial number. The rosewood fingerboard has pearl dot inlay and binding, a combination only found between mid-1965 and mid-1966, when the inlay was changed to blocks. A very nice 'transition" guitar, not Pre-CBS but still with the "real" Fender® feel.Overall length is 41 1/4 in. (104.8 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Very nice overall; clean, unfaded finish with a few minor dings onn the face and some more serious wear and belt buckling to the back. Quite a bit of finish wear to the back of the neck (someone loved playing this one) but no damage and the neck feels great. All original except switch tip (cracked original in case). Original larger frets have been taken down but have a nice crown and the guitar plays extremely well. Includes a very nice original HSC. Excellent Condition.
