Description

The Musicmaster was Fender’s original entry-level musician’s model. Don’t let that fool you…this is a fantastic playing and sounding American-made vintage piece! Featuring a beautiful Daphne blue finish on its off-set small scale body this Musicmaster is, to put it simply, a true joy to play! The serial number on the back plate reads 211706 with the neck stamp dating to July of 1967. It has a single coil neck-positioned pickup that sounds full without losing the twang that people love these guitars for. It is the 24” scale version (which Fender indicated by adding the “II” to the model name), sporting the three saddle Duo Sonic/Musicmaster non-vibrato bridge and pearloid pickguard. It has an “F” labelled neck plate with a serial of 211706. As with other late ‘60s Musicmasters/Duo-Sonics/Mustangs it has the white-tip “F” label tuning machines and grey/gold Fender “spaghetti “logo. The maple neck is thin and very comfortable, measuring about 1 5/8th” at the nut with a rosewood board. The grain really pops off the finish on the back of the neck! It has been set-up by our in-house guitar tech for optimal playability. It is very lightweight, coming in at roughly 6 ½ lbs. Cosmetically it is in excellent shape for its age with some general finish dings and playwear throughout. There are some indentations and finish chips at the side of the body near the control plate. The neck is in excellent shape and the frets, although worn, still have some life left. The headstock has some nice checking that really adds to the vintage look and feel. There is some light buzzing on the lower strings high up the neck, especially after the 15th fret or so. Overall this Musicmaster is a fantastic guitar whether you are just starting out or just want a cool vintage guitar with a great and unique feel and sound! Includes non-original gig bag
