This vintage Mustang from 1965 has been heavily modified but still retains all of its charm. The original neck plate where the serial had been was at one point replaced with a new neck plate. Photos of the neck heel verifying the date of manufacture are included.
This guitar does show some cosmetic wear from over the years. The body shows various scratches, dents, and small chips throughout and most of the lacquer on the back of the neck has peeled away. There's also quite a bit of lacquer chips and cracks present on the headstock. There are holes present on the headstock where there had been string bars at one point in time. The finish appears to have possibly been Dakota Red but has since been stripped and touched up with the natural finish. The frets are used and there is also quite a bit of wear on the fretboard, which is to be expected from a nearly 60 year-old guitar. A neck shim has also been added in the neck pocket for better neck angle. Overall, this guitar is in nice shape for its age. The truss rod turns in both directions and the electronics work as they should.
This guitar has had several modifications. The neck and the body are the only aspects about this guitar that are considered original. Everything from the pickups/electronics to the hardware has been swapped or replaced over time.
