We are huge fans of Relic’d guitars & basses made by the Fender Custom Shop. In fact we owned the very 1st 2 Relic’s ever produced by Fender…a 1950 Nocaster # R0001 & a 1954 Mary Kay Strat # R0002 made in 1995, now sold & I miss them badly. These 1st Relics were made by hand by Vince Cunetto in his back yard prior to the factory taking over the handy work. This morsel we have available is a crazy cool very early production 1996 Nocaster 1950 Relic made in February 1996 having serial # R0033. Its the 33rd Relic ever made. Its Butterscotch finish is quite worn in from new w/an incredible patina over its heavily grained ash body…more than most early Relics. Its Maple Neck has lots of nice birds eye figuring & sporting just a Fender Logo w/no model name for 1950 as it should. Its Black Bakelite pickgard is perfectly aged too. What makes this the perfect player for those chicken-pickin talented cats is its 1st caretaker chose to install a real cool Parsons/White “String Bender” system in this bad boy. Its done very professionally & has a clear plastic back cover that looks original. Overall she’s rather excellent in both condition & playability. She weighs in at a scant 7 lbs. 5 oz. loaded w/tone you can only dream about. Comes complete w/its original COA signed by John Page in its original tweed hard case.
