  • Description: Fender® Stratocaster® Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1959), made in Fullerton, California, serial # 32261, sunburst finish, alder body, maple neck, period hard shell case. Sometimes all we can say is...WOW! An uncirculated, original owner early '59 Strat® doesn't walk in everyday...even here! This guitar spent its brief playing career on the Jersey Shore in a four-piece club band, Sonny's Rhythm Kings, and was put away in the early 1960's when the owner joined the US Navy. It has sat ever since waiting for its next gig! Beautiful, vibrant 3-color sunburst with no fade at all (it only came out at night!) on the body (dated 1-59) and great feeling round-backed neck dated 2-59. This guitar has never suffered the indignities that many Fenders went through in the 60's and 70's, and remains as Leo intended...Simply a wonderful, magical guitar and a great reminder why we fell in love with these in the first place!Overall length is 38 7/8 in. (98.7 cm.), 12 3/4 in. (32.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). Completely original...some very light play wear, a few small dings to the top and one area of scraped finish on the back of the neck but overall this is one clean guitar! Original parts down to last screw, electronics totally virgin. There is a small amount of finish flaking in each cutaway and on some small spots of the body edge. Almost no fingerboard or pick wear, this guitar was immaculately well cared for. Includes a period but not Fender-issued case that was sold new with the guitar ("I think the store was saving some money" recalls the original owner...it was bought in Newark NJ and this looks looks like a Sorkin-distributed case). It also comes with the period strap, cord and a couple of boxes of Gibson strings. Excellent + Condition.
