Description: 1960 Fender® Stratocaster®, featuring slab Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, Surf Green finish, and Mint Green guard. Original parts include the following: Body: Dated 5/60, professionally refinished by Fiesta Finishes in Nitro Lacquer Surf Green. The bridge pickup cavity was deepened slightly at one point to accommodate a DiMarzio pickup. No other routes, extra holes or funny business. Neck: Neck features original finish but is mostly worn off the back of the neck. The neck had Shaller tuners on at one point, but the original single line Kluson Pat. No. tuners are back on the guitar. No extra tuner holes are visible. The neck has been refretted with medium Jumbo frets and it plays just great! One extra string tree hole is filled. Pickups: All original pickups, bridge pickup has been rewound with correct type vintage wire. Pickups measure as follows: Neck 6.0K Middle, 5.7K, Bridge 6.2K. Plastic: Pickup covers, knobs, and switch tip are original Pots: Both tone pots are original and are dated 304 6021 or 21st week of 1960. Volume pot is a new CTS Vintage Style, close tolerance Strat® pot. Bridge, Trem Block, Trem Claw, and Saddles. Other original parts: Strap buttons, jack plate, neck plate, trem claw, misc. screws, etc. Replaced Parts: Mint Guard and shield Volume Pot Switch: The switch is an old, vintage 5 way. It looks 100% original but is a very early 5 way. As mentioned, body date is 5/60, neck date is 6/60, serial number is 52XXX, pot dates 304 6021. Neck thickness at 1st fret is .790" and .978" at the 12th fret, making this a medium C shape typical of the period. The guitar weighs 7 lb. 6 oz. The guitar ships in a brand new C & G® brown tolex case. This is a fabulous player vintage Strat®. It still has all the benefits of an original vintage Strat®, the feel, the tone, the worn in slab board neck etc. And it has the added benefit of little fret wear on the larger frets, so it plays like a dream, and at fraction of the price of an all original guitar. The Surf Green finish, Mint Guard, and old creamy aged plastic makes for a stunning combination. This is a wonderful sounding guitar with the strong, legendary, early 60's, black bottom pickups.
