  • Description: (SALE PENDING!) 1961 Fender® Stratocaster®, featuring slab Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, translucent Blonde finish, Ash body, and Mint Green guard. This guitar is all original except for a stunning nitrocellulose lacquer body only refinish in translucent blonde, by Fiesta Finishes. All of the parts on the guitar are original, except for the tuner bushings. The guitar has been refretted with medium jumbo frets, and it's a pro job and plays beautifully. To be clear, the guitar features the following original parts. Original body and neck, with noted body refinish and neck refret, original tuners, original decal, original neck plate (56XXX), original pickups with original windings (bridge 6.3K, middle 5.6K, neck 5.6K), original mint green guard, original pickup covers, knobs, switch tip, and trem bar tip, original trem bar, original bridge and saddles, original pots (all 304 6104), original tone cap, original CRL 1452 3 way switch, original jack and jack cup, all original trem parts, and original strap buttons. The body is dated 12/60 and the neck is dated 2/61. Truss nut is flush with end of neck, neck is straight and true. The guitar weighs 7 lb. 12 oz. The neck is the thinner "C" profile typical of the period. Thickness at 1st fret is .777" and .945" at the 12th fret. Schaller tuners had been installed on the guitar at one time so there are six extra tuner holes visible on the back of the neck, just next to the Kluson single line tuners. The holes have been filled. As mentioned, the tuner bushings are replacements, while the tuners are original single line Pat. No. Klusons. Also an extra string tree was present at one point. This has been removed and the hole filled. The guitar ships in its original brown tolex hard shell case. The case is in very good condition for its age. There is a reason why Ash bodied, slab neck Stratocasters are so sought after, and the sound and playability of this guitar is just astounding. Satisfaction guaranteed.
