Condition: Excellent
Description: 1952 Vintage Fender® Telecaster® Guitar in excellent original condition, other than a professional Nitrocellulose Lacquer body refinish and neck overspray by Fiesta Finishes™. This Black Guard Telecaster® features original pickups, original bridge and saddles, original control plate, original pots, switch, and tone cap, original neck plate and screws, original No-Line Kluson tuners. Most importantly, it includes the original Black phenolic pick guard, a part that is worth $2K-$3K on it's own in this flawless condition.
The neck features it's original decal, and much of the original lacquer on the fingerboard and head stock. It has, however, been oversprayed, and the original decal is slightly damaged. Original blonde finish is still in the body cavities. The guitar comes with an older, original Fender® bridge cover, however, it does not have the solder mark, so it may be from a later guitar.
The guitar was refretted long ago with vintage frets, and they look original. The do have some wear on the first few frets, but still have plenty of meat and could be dressed if so desired. A few screws on the guitar have been changed over the years, but all the parts that matter are original. This Tele® still features the original wiring scheme with a blend circuit. The original tone cap and resistor are still in place and it's wired as it was when new. I don't think it's ever been changed to a modern Tele® wiring scheme.
This is a Tadeo guitar all the way, as it's a mid '52 guitar. The neck date is TG 7-31-52 and the body date is Tadeo 8-6-52, the pots are original Claristat, with date codes covered with solder as they usually are on Black Guards. The serial number on the bridge plate is 3477. The neck is a full D shape, typical of the period, big, but not huge. The thickness at 1st fret is .870" growing to .966" at the 12th fret. The guitar weighs a light and resonant 7lb. 8oz. Light enough to be comfortable, but with enough mass and resonance to deliver the killer tone these mid Black Guard Teles are known for. The pickups in this guitar sound awesome.
There are no routes, cracks, or modifications to the body or neck. The original wood is pristine. There are no extra pick guard holes or any other mods to the body. The original Klusons have always been on the neck, so there are no extra tuner holes, nor are the shaft bores enlarged. No extra string trees have ever been installed. If you are looking for a really nice Black Guard Telecaster® for a fair price, look no further. This is truly a great guitar and it sounds and plays wonderfully.
The guitar ships in a reproduction, Fender®, tweed "Thermometer" case.
Satisfaction guaranteed. Keep the guitar for 48 hours to play and hear it, if not happy for any reason, return for full refund minus shipping.
