Like any company at the cutting edge of their field, Fender never ceased tweaking and experimenting, even through their golden-age. This '67 Tele has two very unique features to this brief era: a chambered "smuggler" route to lighten the load, and a "maple capped" neck where the maple fingerboard is applied like a rosewood board would normally be.

This one is overall great shape for the age. The body was long ago stripped, painted red, and stripped again. We sent it to RS Guitarworks to be restored to a more period correct blonde finish. Please note that when it was originally stripped the owner just cut the wires to get the electronics out and spliced them back together. They still read and sound strong. The wiring harness is original and the pots date to '66. 

The neck finish is original and it plays great. It tapers from 0.84 at 1st fret to 0.95 at 12th.

The guitar comes with its original (and quite clean) hard case.
