  • Description: We are pleased to offer this very rare 1971 Rosewood Fender® Telecaster® made in Fullerton CA for sale. It has been part of our vintage guitar collection for 35 years. During the first few years of its life there were some modifications. Nevertheless, it remains in good condition and is very playable. This would be a nice addition to someone's collection or for a country player. Rosewood Teles were made from 1969 to 1972. The first Rosewood Telecaster® was a gift to George Harrison who played it on "Let it Be". It has a laminated Rosewood front and back with a thin piece of maple sandwiched between. The neck and fretboard are also Rosewood. Weighs 8.8 lbs, scale length 25 1/2", Nut width 1 5/8" and there are 21 frets which are in remarkably good condition. It retains its original polyester natural finish, Fender® lead pickup, Fender® "F" stamped tuners, knobs and switch. Some screws are original and the wiring is original with the exception of the humbucker wiring. The pickguard is original but has been modified. One string ferral is missing. Several alterations were made before the guitar was acquired by Apple Music. There are two holes in the bridge, a slot has been cut in the ashtray pickup cover, the neck pickup was replaced with a D'Armond humbucker pickup, and there are four screw holes on the top of the guitar where a string bender had once been installed. We are happy to provide additional information and pictures to serious buyers. It comes with a new Fender® hardshell case.
