  • Description: This is a vintage Mutt with a heart of gold! The neck looks to be from 1957 (based on features) although there is no penciled neck date on the inside. The finish has worn quite a bit at the back of the headstock. The fretboard sports quite a bit of playwear as well but is very comfortably broken in. The body likely dates back to the early 1960s and was at one point routed for humbuckers. There is some wear along the edges of the body. Also a chip has been taken out at the base of the body and there is substantial belt rash on the back. The bridge plate is from '65 while the saddles date to somewhere between mid '54 and mid '58 (when Fender® was using the pat. pend smooth brass saddles). The pickguard is aftermarket. The gorgeously twangy pickup dates to 1957. The electronics (pots and switches) are modern replacements. The tuners are modern replacement Schallers. No case included.
