  • Description: These first version Telecaster® basses are pretty unique instruments; They represent a very specific time in Fender®'s history and harken back to the grand 50's in both their looks and tone. This particular bass is in excellent, original condition and has with it a few very cool items. The business card of the original owner is in the package- his band was "The Country Kings". The original Fender® case tag is here, the original, matching number owner's manual as well as a page of handwritten, original song lyrics. All of these items make for a nice testament to the bass's history and we always enjoy finding them when we open a case for the first time. Now to the bass; If you're a fan of big, "C" necks, then you're in for a treat. The neck profile on this bass is quite substantial and believe me, you know you have grabbed onto a chunk of Maple when you first palm this beast. The tone is exactly as you would expect from the great single coil- huge and round. This is the perfect instrument for the bassist that plays the supporting role behind a busy guitar player. "It fills the room with the boom" as we like to say around the 'Elkcave and the bass weighs in at a very comfortable 9 lbs, 11 oz. The case is a later, mid- 70's Fender® case, but that's what she came in so that's where she stays. With all the goodies included in the package, it pretty much evens out, value wise. You may also notice that other like basses are priced northward of 4k, but not here- we want this piece to go straight into the hands of a bass player that's looking for the "right one" so it's priced to move and is backed with the world- famous, ironclad 'Elk guarantee. It doesn't get any better than this, fellow low- enders so please call or email with any questions or requests. As always, 'Elk operators are standing by...
