Description

Like the iconic guitar model it shares a name with the Telecaster Bass is a perfect example of beautiful simplicity. From the double-cut ash body to the two-saddle bridge to the single neck-positioned Fender humbucking pickup with single volume/tone controls the Telecaster Bass knows that keeping things nice and basic is the way to go. It sports a maple neck with skunk-stripe down the back and a maple fingerboard with dot inlay. Like Fender’s Standard Tele guitars it features a string-thru body design with a nice and chunky neck. It measures 1 9/16th” at the nut and has a 34” scale length. This was the first year Fender switched to a humbucking pickup for the Tele bass and boy does this pickup sound great! It has a thick thumpy tone that makes it excellent for country, rock, blues, reggae, and more! The bass has been setup by our in-house guitar tech for optimal playability. The frets have some wear but lots of life left to them in our opinion. Being that this is a ‘70s Fender it does have some weight to it, coming in at just about 10 lbs 12 ounces. A well-padded strap is definitely recommended! There is a decent amount of playwear throughout the body and neck, really adding to the vintage feel of the bass. The natural finish has some wear spots, mostly on the back of the body and around the sides. The white 3-ply pickguard has some pick scratches, especially on the bass-hand side, and the initials “G.A.K. ’74” have been carved into the back of the 3-screw micro-tilt neck plate. Includes original hard shell case.
