Description

Over the years there have been many fine hand wired replicas of amps Leo designed, produced by many builders. The current Fender company rarely ventures into hand wired land. But 10 or so years ago they did on this one and they really nailed it.

Beginning in 1952 the Twin was a 25 watt amp. It underwent constant modification and several model changes over the years. As the models changed, the power output increased. In 1957 the Twin hadn't yet reached 80 watts with 4 6L6 output tubes. It was still a dual rectifier, dual 6L6 45 watter.

The ’57 Twin Reissue is a replica of that amp. Featuring lacquered Tweed cloth covering, a finger-jointed, solid-pine cabinet and leather handle. The transformers and choke are from Mercury Magnetics. The speakers are 12” Eminence Alnicos. The current circuit is geared toward a brighter, louder sound.

This 4 input beauty is a perfect blend of tweedy richness and black face power.
