  • Description: UGC35394 If you're a fan of beautiful wood, look no further. This quarter-of-a-century old G&L cavalier has one of the most beautiful Mahogany bodies we've even seen in an electric guitar. The Cavalier was the model that introduced to the world Leo's unique slanted humbucking pickup configuration. The G&L double coil pickups have a distinctly bright, woody tonality with plenty of power to cut through the rest of the ensemble. Definitely not your "old school" humbuckers. This guitar was a gift to Richard Smith (Author "FenderĀ®, the sound heard around the world") who was a close friend to Leo FenderĀ® and George Fullerton. No pickguard as the wood selection was simply stunning and to cover it up would be a shame! In excellent condition, certainly a "one of a kind" Cavalier with a history to match. As with everything Leo designed, it is a superb creation that rises above all others. With original hard case.
