Description

If you are looking for a slope dread with sonic 12-fret punch, one that plays effortlessly and looks fabulous, I hope you will give this instrument a good look. Offered is this Gallagher G-70 M built in 2008. This marvelous acoustic received two major upgrades over the standard G-70 dreadnought specs; it received a 12-fret neck and figured Madagascar Rosewood for the back and sides. Other key specs of this model include: a lovely straight-grained Sitka Spruce top that is a wonderful golden color; Gallagher's "voiced" top bracing; grained ivoroid binding on the body, neck and headstock; herringbone purfling and back strip; a 25.25" scale length; 1.75" bone nut and drop-in bone saddle; 2 3/16" string spacing; Ebony fretboard with diamond and square inlays; Ebony bridge; Mahogany headstock overlay with Gallagher logo inlay; and enclosed 16:1 ratio Schaller tuners. The 12-fret geometry of this guitar makes for a powerful instrument that is evident with the first chord. The term "banjo killer" certainly applies to the output capabilities of this guitar. The tone is more than just power, however, as you will find the upper register notes are clear and succint, reminiscent of a smaller bodied instrument. This guitar is in near mint condition, with just some extremely light strum marks on the pickguard and a spot or two of finish shrinkage. The frets show zero wear. A new G-70M equipped like this guitar will run you $5,300. With it's upgraded tone woods, high end cosmetics, superior sound and near new condition, this guitar is a steal at $2K less. Very nice!
