  • Description: Hand Built. Ser. # ..008. As the old Monty Python quote goes: ".. and now for something completely different.." - Phil Garside started Garside Guitars back in 2001 with the vision of an American made & more affordable guitar using more exotic tone-woods and good components for great tone. Already armed with an inherent knowledge of woodworking, he picked out the lumber and built his first guitar, the Silhouette(ser. # 001), which he completed in Dec. 2001(and still has to this day). Pleased by how well it was received by all who saw it, he decided to build a few more. I met Phil and saw his first guitars at a guitar show back in 2002. They were obviously "different" and caught my attention. Although I didn't buy one at the time, a friend and former biz partner of mine did buy two of them; ser. #'s 004 (with dual Seymour Duncan humbuckers) & # 008 (with one S. Duncan humbucker). Later on I bought them both from my friend. I've held onto them, mainly because of how cool they look, but also because they were early prototypes from a luthier with a new vision and not afraid to be "different". According to Phil, the body woods he used on this one are a little bit of every type of woods he had in his shop at that time, including African Padauk, zebrawood, mahogany, purpleheart, maple, etc., with a rosewood fretboard. Gold hardware. Not sure if he ever built another one like this, but it's definitely THE FIRST one of its kind! Be the envy of all your friends when you pull this one out to play. No case, but will ship in a nice padded gigbag. ** ON HOLD **
