  • Description: Description: 1948 Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar in sunburst finish. The guitar was sent back to Gibson sometime in the late 60's / early 70's for refurbishing - it was completely refinished, had the original tuners replaced with Gibson Deluxe & a few back cracks repaired. The FON stamp on the neck block reads 3177.

Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, dents & dings; light surface scratches & some weather checking on the back of the neck.

Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with cream-colored side-dot markers. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Frets are in good shape with some light wear, but still plenty of life left in them. Gibson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width.

Soft shoulder, double-bound dreadnought body - solid spruce top with solid mahogany back & sides. Rosewood bridge; unoriginal tortoise-style pickguard. There is an input jack where the end pin would be, but there is no pickup in the guitar.

Set Up: Professionally set up by our guitar tech & strung with brand new Martin Phosphor Bronze light gauge strings.

Playability / Sound: Nice action; neck plays & feels good. Sweet tone - a bit on the brighter side with some nice punch to it.

    Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
