Gibson / 1970s Florentine 5st-Banjo

The banjo is used not only in country music and bluegrass, but also in a wide range of genres such as pop and crossover music these days. Artists like Taylor Swift also use it in their performances, and its exposure in videos is increasing. Banjos developed in modern America come in a variety of forms, including the four-string banjo (plectrum and tenor banjo) used in Dixieland jazz and the five-string banjo favored in bluegrass and old-time. Additionally, there are banjo ukuleles, banjo basses, and six-string banjos that can be played like a guitar.

One of the external characteristics of the 5-string banjo is that, unlike other instruments, it has a single string protruding from the middle of the fingerboard. This may come as a surprise to guitarists. It is also equipped with an improved tone ring to provide a louder sound and sustain, and a resonator to amplify the sound.

The Florentine 5st-Banjo in this shipment is the king of decorations.
The original Florentine banjo was produced from 1927 to 1937 and is said to have been created by Gibson at the time with the aim of making it "the finest and most luxurious banjo in the world.
The price of "Florentine Banjo" was $450 compared to $270 for "L-5", the highest quality archtop banjo at that time, which shows how much effort Gibson put into this banjo.
This is a reissue from the 1970s, and as the original production terminology suggests, the resonator, heel, fingerboard, and even the head are all of the highest quality and design.
Seeing one of these in Japan is an extremely rare experience in itself.
