1963 A-40N
ブルーグラス・ミュージックにおいて、バンジョーなどと共に欠かせない楽器の一つがマンドリンです。
主にリードを演奏するか、カットと呼ばれる和音でリズムを刻むパートなどに使用されます。
本器はギブソン社のAスタイルマンドリンで、1948年から1970年頃にかけて生産されたA-40というモデルです。
ヨーロッパの伝統的なマンドリンがラウンドトップやボウルバックのボディを採用しているのに対し、こちらはいわゆるフラットマンドリンと呼ばれるタイプです。
ギブソン社のアーチトップギターと同様に、美しいカーブを持つスプルース製のアーチトップとマホガニー製のアーチボディを備えています。
1963年製造としては非常に綺麗で、オリジナルハードケースも付属している貴重なお品物です。
