2004 Gibson Brands SG Standard Ebony, Very Good, Original Hard
This 2004 Gibson SG Standard serial number 00984379 is in very good condition, neck and frets are fine, very little wear and tear with the exception of a chip about 3/8" in the upper horn on the bass side.
Featuring a 3-piece Mahogany body with a bound 22 fret Mahogany neck, Rosewood fretboard with trapezoid inlays, blackface headstock with pearl crown and Gibson logo inlays, tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece, chrome hardware and a layered black pickguard. The “Standard” is fitted with 498T and 490R pickups (“T” for treble, and “R” for rhythm) that have the traditional characteristics of the original “Patent Applied For” pickups of the late 1950s, with a few upgrades. These pickups take advantage of wax potting, which does away with any air space inside the pickup, therefore lessening the chances of microphonic feedback. The result is a humbucker with the tonal characteristics of an original PAF, with a slight increase in upper mid-range response.
The iconic SG design stands the test of time and remains a very popular guitar that excels in a wide variety of musical styles. This is a comfortable and very playable piece of American guitar building, offered for your consideration.
