Description

The Byrdland features a short scale 23.5” neck on a thinner L-5 body (2.25”) with a 17” carved spruce. A beautiful honey iced tea finish is complemented with a flower pot motif inlay on the headstock. It is equipped with two superb patent # Gibson humbuckers and a gold tune-a-matic bridge with an ornately scrolled Byrdland tailpiece. The plating is fairly worn on the hardware but overall the guitar still looks sharp. There is also some finish wear along the sides of the body. By far the Byrdland’s best feature would be the fast and friendly big fretted, multi-bound ebony neck. The guitar has been re-fretted at some point in its life but it is super comfortable and smooth-playing. The perfectly tuned and highly resonant top is to die for! Every bass note booms in your chest and the treble side is brilliant but not brittle! The nicely-aged yellowed binding has no noticeable breaks. There is some light finish loss on the top bout and some checking on the top back and sides that highlights its gorgeously vintage feel. It comes with a period correct repro guard and rare original Gibson brown form-fitted pink lined case. Call or email for more info or for a shipping quote!
