  • Description: Here we have an excellent example of a 1963 Gibson Byrdland. This guitar is all original, and includes the original hard case. The width at the nut is 1 21/32nd's and the original patent number pickups measure at 7.69k in the bridge, and 7.31k in the neck. There is a small spot on the back of the neck where some finish is gone, possibly from laying in the case on the neck rest for a period of time. The back of the body has a beautiful book matched flame maple grain to it, very three dimensional, and quite stunning. The guitar plays and sounds great. Very comfortable and smooth feel, and the tone is clear, crisp, and round. The majority of Byrdlands were done in a sunburst finish, natural one's are much harder to find, and even harder in this condition. Of the 134 Byrdlands Gibson produced in 1963, only 32 were made in the natural finish, making this rare guitar even rarer! More pics available upon request.
