  • Description: This amazing archtop acoustic/electric hand carved Gibson Citation features a solid spruce top and and highly figured solid maple back and sides.The single Venetian cutaway body has seven ply binding on both the front and the back with two f holes. Nothing other than the finest woods were used on this instrument. This Citation is part of Gibson's historic collection available only by special order. Production numbers were extremely limited. The body is 17" wide at the lower bout and it is 3" deep. The neck scale is 25 1/2 inches with 20 frets and is 1 11/16" at the nut. Neck features include a five ply bound ebony fretboard with nine abalone cloud inlays. The five piece maple neck is highly figured and has a pointed end. The headstock has an abalone fluer-de-lis inlay both front and back with schaller gold fluer-de-lis engraved tuning keys. Other traits include 24 carat gold hardware, an ebony bridge, a floating BJB pickguard mounted pickup, a custom Citation engraved tailpiece, and a five ply maple pickguard with one control knob. Clearly this guitar is for the serious collector that truly appreciates American quality workmanship and materials. This rare Citation is a one owner guitar in mint condition and has been handled only for tuning and photos. It comes in its original black leather case with outer protective cover.
