  • Description: On Hold! Gibson SJN Country Western, Serial # 96XXX9. This guitar has some physical appointments of a 1968,69 & of a 1971; 68-71. This is a square shoulder dreadnaught with a Spruce Top and Mahogany Back & Sides. Bound Rosewood Fingerboard with pearloid double- parallelogram inlay, Rosewood Bridge. The “Gibson” Headstock Logo and Crown are of Mother of Pearl and the truss rod cover has “SJN” in white.. Three piece neck as typical of the era. The bridge was originally an adjustable style, now professionally converted to a drop in bone saddle. The nut is bone also & measures 1 11/16”. Overall scale length is 25.5”. The # 6 “E” string measures 3/32” from 12th fret, good playing action. Tortoise teardrop pickguard. It has the normal Gibson Finish Checking going on on the front primarily but some on the back & sides. A few nicks & pings. The Gloss finish has been removed from back of the headstock only, however the original Serial Number & “Made In The USA” black ink stamp are Intact. The tuners have been replaced with Gold Grovers , gold screws in the extra holes. (The way I got it) This is a good playing and sounding late 60’s early 70’s era Gibson SJN Country Western dreadnaught, not that common and somewhat fancier than the J-45’s of the time. Hardshell Case in good condition & looks era correct. Thanks, Tommy Allen, Atlanta Premier Guitars, 770-860-8551 atlpremierguitar@bellsouth.net
