  • Description: The Gibson Country & Western was an offshoot of the workhorse J-45 flat top guitar. Made to appeal to the performer who wanted a bit of Nashville 'bling' onstage, the C&W added extra binding, inlay and a pointed pickguard to the J-45. This example is in excellent, original condition and conforms to the specs of a C&W from this period. Mahogany body with multiple b/w binding; spruce top; fancy pointed pickguard; belly bridge with adjustable saddle; mahogany neck with slim profile; rosewood fingerboard with large parallelogram inlays; 'Gibson' logo in pearl; individual Kluson enclosed tuners. Scale length measures 24 1/2", neck width 1 5/8" across at the nut. This guitar is in crisp, original condition with only two small dings in the top, a small bit of 'strap melt' in the finish below the end pin, and some finish crazing. No pick wear on the top and only a hint of fret wear. The guitar produces the round and boomy sound that made the J-45 and its ilk the sought after guitars that they are today. Comes with original soft (but pretty stiff) case.
