Here is a particularly special R9 for your consideration. This beauty was built just a couple of months ago, in November of 2014. I invested in this guitar for several reasons. The first is it's light weight - just 8.2 pounds! You don't see many R9's that are lighter than this one. I also liked it because it felt balanced in my lap and strapped on. The neck felt immediately comfortable too and it measures .910" at the first fret and an even 1.00" at the 12th and it has a lovely very dark fret board. I also liked the mineral streaking in the upper bout of the flame top - they give the guitar some unique character as you might find on a real vintage LP of the 50's. I believe the color is Sunrise Tea Burst. I also invested in this guitar because it's in fabulous condition - except for the light VOS aging that it received at the factory (slight patina to the finish, aging of the hardware and plastics), this guitar shows no evidence of play. As a 2014 model, this guitar of course has all the new and desirable improvements Gibson made in the 2013 and later guitars: the use of hot hide glue to fit the long tenon neck joint; more accurate aniline dyes and binding material; lighter but non-weight-relieved bodies; the new and better sounding 'Custom Bucker' pickups; no surround on the truss rod, and so on. It comes with the similarly mint Lifton style brown case, the certificate of authenticity and the hang tags, everything you would get if you bought it new from a dealer except for the guarantee. If you have been looking for a great recent model R9 Les Paul at a great price, you need look no further!
