2001 Gibson Custom Authentic LPR8 Les Paul 58 Reissue Birdseye Maple Top Birdseye Maple, Excellent, Original Hard, $4,950.00

This fine LPR8 Les Paul comes from Gibson’s Custom Shop-built “Custom Authentic” line and features an incredible bird’s eye maple top that has to be seen to be believed! These bird’s eye maple tops are very hard to find; we were pleasantly surprised when this one showed up at our shop. Gibson produced an extremely limited run of these tops (estimates are in the 5-10 range) before switching over to the blister top. The binding has been nicely yellowed and the hardware and pickup covers have also been aged to give this guitar a very natural vintage-like look. The stock dual humbucking pickups have everything you would expect from a Gibson of this caliber: both the familiar thick and creamy rhythm tones and the crunchy punchy lead tones. It's on the lighter side for a Paul, coming in at about 9 1/2 lbs. It was definitely well-cared for by the previous owner! Other than some small finish dings on the side of the body this baby is in close to mint condition! The frets have lots of life left and the guitar plays like a dream. The beauty of this guitar simply does not translate to the photos; it is worth the trip to see it in person! And once you pick your jaw back up off the floor it is time to plug it in and let her rip!
