Amazing Gibson Collectors Choice CC #28 Ronnie Montrose 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue. This LP is the real deal and has AMAZING woodsy tone. Gibson did all the aging perfectly and the first thing we noticed was how loud this guitar was acoustically, even though in new condition, sounds like its 20 years old. The aging and attention to detail is spot on and the tone is 100% vintage PAF Les Paul. The neck pickup is bluesy and vocal and the bridge pickup has a fantastically usable midrange that is not harsh. The tone is perfectly balanced and really cuts through the mix. These CC runs often sell out immediately and are difficult to find. Save big off the street price. Comes with everything shown including OHSC and COA.

FROM GIBSON: For its acclaimed Collector’s Choice™ series, Gibson Custom takes on the challenge of recreating specific vintage Les Pauls from noted collections, to provide players around the world the opportunity to experience the precise look, feel and tone of some of the rarest guitars in history. This addition to the series, Collector’s Choice™ #28 “STP ’Burst”, captures one of the most recorded and storied guitar in the Collector’s Choice™ series, a 1958 ’burst owned and played by Ronnie Montrose.

After passing from Montrose’s hands this guitar then went to Peter Weihe of Hamburg, Germany, whose studio work with this exemplary Les Paul has been heard more than 20,000,000 times throughout an illustrious global recording career. Now, through the direct and intimate cooperation of Peter Weihe, the Ronnie Montrose Estate, and the guitar’s current owner (an anonymous German collector), Gibson Custom brings to life this coveted ’58 Les Paul in all its current glory, in a Limited Edition not to top 300 guitars.

The Collector’s Choice™ #28 1958 Les Paul “STP ’Burst” has been crafted after intensive hands-on analysis of the original guitar, with every curve, angle and specification precisely measured for exact reproduction. Tonewoods are carefully selected to match the look, weight, and sound of the original subject, and all guitars are hand aged to match every ding, dent and scratch found on this ’58 ’burst as it exists today, including a lusciously faded Cherry Sunburst finish and genuine aniline red filler for the back, neck and sides. Above and beyond the cosmetics, Gibson Custom goes to great lengths to recreate the unique tone of the “STP ’Burst”, using a pair of Custom Buckers built to the precise specs of the guitar’s unique PAFs. Mr. Weihe describes the tone as “intense in its mid-range and the most flexible guitar that I’ve had the pleasure to play.”

A perfectly captured full, rounded ’58 neck profile, traditional truss rod with no sleeve, nylon nut, aged nickel hardware, vintage-color binding, and rosewood fingerboard with aged celluloid trapezoid inlays complete the picture. Secure your Collector’s Choice™ #28 1958 Les Paul now at your authorized Gibson Custom dealer, and prepare to come as close as is humanly possible to owning the real thing.
