  • Description: Gibson ES-125TCD Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1961), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 23196, cherry sunburst finish, laminatad maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. A superb early example of Gibson's best and most versatile lower-end archtop guitar. This ES-125TCD offers two great-sounding P-90 pickups, a thinline cutaway body in a bright cherry sunburst finish and a great shallow-profile early-60's neck. An unusual feature if this guitar is what appears to be a factory-fitted better grade laminated pickguard, unusual for this model. The guitar is marked on the headstock rear as a 2nd...we see no evidence why, unless of course the better pickguard was judged a factory error! A very cool guitar, as nice as these come.Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 16 1/8 in. (41 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 13/16 in. (4.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Very clean, all original with some minor wear spots. A little finish flaking by the neck joint, a small crack in the laminate by the jack, a spot of finish mar on the headstock face-otherwise not much wear. Excellent Condition.
