Description

VG+. Sunburst, single pickup, all-stock with original pickguard Klusons, electronics, nickel bridge, and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge. A few small notes: jack hole repair and refretted (we dressed the frets). There is a strap button on the heel and the neck binding had cracked but is now repaired. See photos for a look at any dings and scratches, it’s not bad. Has a fresh set of flatwounds and the acoustic tone is great, remarkably loud, and goes from jazz to bluesy in a flick. The two-tone sunburst has a fantastic glow to it. Note the yellowed binding. The serial number is just ten digits from what is listed in reliable sources as approximately the last serial number of 1955. We figure it came off the line right after Gibson’s holiday break in early 1956. Nice “c”-shape medium-large neck, no “v”. Gibson does not currently make an ES-175. This one has real charm, especially seen sitting its original brown hard case.
