  • Description: 1954 Gibson ES-295... largely unmodified and heavily played... this guitar is heavily lacquer checked and worn. This guitar sounds and plays great! The 2 P90s are fat and warm with plenty of twang for the bridge pickup! The pots and wiring have never been changed or messed with. The pots are smooth and quiet. The frets are original. The Pat. Pending tuners may be original - maybe just replaced buttons - but the tuner holes have never been enlarged. I suspect that the gold must have mostly worn off the back of the neck - someone has finished the job and created a "stinger" with the remaining gold from the headstock. The neck may have been either simply stripped of the remaining gold or refinished - but it's lacquer checked, so it must have been done long ago. There's also the typical crack repair at the output jack. Th F.O.N. (Factory Order Number) is clearly visible and is: X7291 15 - the "X" indicating 1954 in Gibson's coding. More pics on request.
